Almost 370 years ago, in 1653, Oliver Cromwell dissolved the Long parliament – a corrupt cabal of wealthy, self-serving villains who, – far from working for the good of the people chose only to further their own interests. The MPs of the time dishonoured the lofty ideals of parliamentary democracy with their greed and their utter contempt for the needs of those whom they were elected to serve.
This is what he said…
“It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonoured by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; you are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; you are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
“Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? You have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
“You sordid prostitutes ,have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? You are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, get yourselves gone! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
Not so very long ago I and people like me were branded traitors, liars and enemies of Britain. Gutter press tabloids and the hard of understanding alike accused us of being anti-democratic collaborators with a foreign superpower bent on destroying British sovereignty. We were the cucks who enabled a trojan horse style invasion by radical Islamists. We were inviting gangs of marauding East Europeans who wanted nothing more than to rape our daughters whilst we looked on helpless to prevent it.
People who’d never had a political thought in their lives and never even considered the reality of European membership until 2016 suddenly became experts because they’d seen a couple of headlines – not read the actual article, mind you – but seen some headlines in the Daily Fail. So all of a sudden they became fuckin’ experts! If only they’d read something about the Dunning-Kruger effect we’d all be way better off today.
But they hadn’t and so they kept on deluding themselves about our alleged treachery. And all because we wanted to uphold electoral law. Because we wanted to provide genuine facts to our fellow Brits instead of the fake slurs peddled by the likes of Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees Mogg, Nigel Farage and Michael Gove.
All because we wanted to protect our nation from the catastrophe that is now upon us. But we failed. You won – get over it!
And stop bloody complaining about the mess you created. If you’re a Brexiteer – or even worse, even more ridiculous, a working class tory then you did this. It’s all on you!
No longer do the newspapers call us traitors – because nobody would believe them.
No longer am I hesitant to go in certain pubs for fear of being assaulted by drunken Brexiteers – they’re all decidedly sheepish these days.
No longer do people talk about sunlit uplands – now it’s about economic hardship – how hard will it be and for how long will we have to endure it.
And it hasn’t really started yet.
Yes we’ve seen jobs lost.
Yes, we see harvests going to waste.
Yes we have shortages in the shops because we sent all the lorry drivers home.
The NHS is struggling without the mainstay of European workers.
The cost of living, driven by Brexit scarcity is rising exponentially and many Brits, employed as well as unemployed are unable to feed themselves and their families. And that’s before the new cuts to universal credit come into force.
But if you think this is bad just wait. We still haven’t started checking imports at our end yet. That’s because the government knows that, given how bad it is just checking on one side of the channel, once UK customs swings into action it’ll be a whole lot worse.
Why do you think we’ve been building all those lorry parks in Kent? It’s because once we begin checking both imports AND exports the delays will be monumental. Fresh food is already becoming unexportable because it goes off in the lorry transporting it to the mainland. How many jobs has that little bit of red tape cost? What will happen to imports once we start the same protracted process at our end? Then we’ll really see scarcity. Then we’ll really see inflation.
This government gained its majority on the back of three key election pledges.
One was to get Brexit done. Well – even if that were a good thing (obviously I don’t think there’s much good about it) it’s nowhere near done and won’t be for many years.
The new trade deals we keep hearing about are less beneficial to us than they would have been had we stayed in the EU. The not new deals are just temporary roll-overs from existing EU agreements which, of course keep us bound to EU regulations only now we have no say in how those regulations are created.
The second pledge was that there would be no tax rises for those at the bottom of the tree. Part of the ‘levelling up’ agenda. This week Boris has announced a massive hike in tax and National Insurance – hitting those at the bottom hardest.
Thirdly – maintaining the triple lock which states that pensions must rise by either 2.5%, the rate of inflation or the level of the average wage – whichever is the greatest. For the next few years Brexit economic hardship will see the state pension rise far above that of falling wages as it matches rising inflation instead. Personally I think that’s OK. Today’s pensioners were promised welfare ‘from the cradle to the grave’ and having paid their share all their working lives have no time to save for the future. As a nation we should honour that social contract, that pact the nation made with them all those years ago. But Boris is again considering changing the triple lock to remove those protections, protections we owe to the people who worked so hard to rebuild our nation after the first and second world wars.
I began this video by reminding you how so many of us were vilified as traitors.
But when we see the results of Brexit and this extreme right conservative government’s policies – results we were trying to avoid for the sake of the British people… let me ask you…
If you’re still unconvinced of Boris Johnson’s gradual Nazification of Britain then this final part of the film provides evidence not only of the parallels with Hitler but the way that the Johnson government continues to attack our rights and freedoms. Johnson is a dictator in the making and the nature of that dictatorship is far from benign.
But there is hope. Watch to the end to hear what we can do to change this terrifying trajectory. The Tory party knows nothing of loyalty to leaders once they are seen by the public for what they really are. We can use the Tory party’s own inherent callousness to overthrow this regime before it’s too late.
The government that follows will still be tory but at least it won’t be Nazi. That might not be a perfect solution but it beats what the current government has in store for us.
So we’re looking at 100,000 new infections per day.
The Health secretary and the Prime minister are both happy to remove restrictions, the things that kept most of us alive for the last 16 months without giving a hoot about the lives that will be lost. The economy’s the thing. Who cares if a few thousand extra vulnerable, disabled, elderly or unemployed people die?
Who cares if workers die? There are plenty of idlers on the dole to replace them and reduce the benefits bill at the same time.
If I had the energy after 16 months of nursing through the pandemic I’d get angry – but I’m beyond that now.
Imagine you had the chance to fix a corrupt regime in a banana republic somewhere in the developing world. How might you go about it? Would you use a Western democracy like the UK as a template?
Between Covid19, Brexit, the ERG, Jacob Double-barrelled-snooty-name and Johnson’s irritating habit of breaking his word whenever it suits him the United Kingdom really is monumentally f%¢£€d!
Let me tell you a story. You might not like this story. Some of you might even want to hurt me for telling it. but it’s a true story none the less. It’s a story about sovereignty, about democracy and about Boris Johnson’s shameful attempts to destroy both.
Boris seems finally to have found a use for the NHS. The beloved institution that he and his Tory mates have starved of funds for so long is currently working to save his life. I wonder if he’ll appreciate it more after this. I won’t be holding my breath though.
If you’re one of those people who thinks Boris & co have handled Covid-19 well, have a look at this. Bear in mind that we’ve known about this for months, since well before we had our first cases here in UK. While the rest of the world, including Italy and even the World Health Organisation were telling us to prepare, Boris was advocating we just ‘take the hit’.
This Financial Times graph isn’t ‘real time’. It’s been adjusted to track each country’s progress since they reached 3 deaths per day. That means we’re all assessed on an equal footing – equal until you realise how much more warning the UK had than some other countries. Of course other countries did have a couple of distinct advantages…
Their health services hadn’t been crippled by 10 years of Tory underfunding. Our NHS went into this crisis with fewer beds than we had when the service began in 1948 due to conservative savagery. The tories opposed and argued against the creation of the NHS in the 1940s and they oppose it now, they just won’t admit it so openly in 2020.
Their political leaders didn’t see Covid-19 as an excuse to reduce the welfare bill by getting rid of their ‘useless eaters’.
In the 24 hours since this graph was produced the UK has overtaken even Italy. Do you still think Boris is handling things well?
I wonder what the Freedom of speech supporters who’ve stood on public platforms for years shouting divisive diatribes and railed against the law curtailing their right to shout divisive diatribes from public platforms will make of this. Those of us who really do support Freedom of speech (in UK Freedom of expression) genuinely are appalled.
Yesterday we saw how American alt-right offshoot ‘Turning Point UK’ was attempting to influence British education by encouraging intimidation of teachers. Today we learn that our government is doing the same. That’s hardly surprising given the links our government has with alt-right gurus such as Steve Bannon, arguably the real power behind Cummings’s Prime Ministerial throne. Let’s face it – it’s not Boris in charge, is it?
In 1933 the German Nazi party began a campaign of removing all academics and staff from schools, universities and cultural, historical institutions who weren’t ‘on message’.
Yesterday the news broke that Andrew Sabisky, Eugenicist, racist and all round dismisser of other peoples’ worth had been employed as advisor to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson (who definitely is not racist). Today we hear that Mr. Sabisky has resigned as advisor to the (definitely not racist) Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Several of my lefty colleagues are proclaiming a victory this morning over the Johnson regime (that still really definitely isn’t racist) because public outrage has forced the nasty little eugenicist to go. But they’ve missed the point. Sabisky has already served his purpose and the message from this (absolutely not racist) government will have been received loud and clear.
Sabisky’s appointment is just the latest in a long line of reassurances from Prime Minister Johnson (who really doesn’t have a racist bone in his body) to the UK’s racist population that Number 10 is on their side. From comments about Picaninnies, Watermelon smiles and letter boxes to the appointment of shady figures like Dominic Cummings (or did Cummings appoint Johnson?) and shady links to alt right figureheads like Steve Bannon the (undeniably NOT racist) Mr. Johnson has being spreading out the red carpet for British race hate groups for years.

So the very fact that Mr. Sabisky was employed at all by (the completely, absolutely and totally not racist) Mr. Johnson far outweighs the fact that he has been forced to resign by “lefty, pinko snowflakes that hate freedom speek and can’t see the true that British peeple is best and always is white – not like them forriners”.
This isn’t any sort of victory for the left – this is evidence that we’ve been played – yet again. Not only has the PM doubled-down on his friendship with racists (who aren’t at all like Boris himself) by appointing Sabisky in the first place but he’s also managed to divide the country even further as part of his (not at all obvious or racist) ‘divide and rule’ strategy.
